Crispy Air-Fried Sweet Potato Fries
So I am addicted to my crispy sweet potatoes fries… (or kumera if you live in NZ!) I have them at nearly every meal. I love to batch roast whole sweet potatoes at the start of the week & then use these to make my fries. My kids love these fries as an after school snack. I throw them in the air fryer with some seasoning & they are ready in 15 minutes. They are delicious, super simple & quick to make. Once you make them once, they will become a staple in your home too. You can use an oven, but ours takes what feels like hours to heat up… Air fryer for the win!!

Ingredients for the Crispy Sweet Potato Fries & Seasoning
- sweet potato (or kumera)
- spices (smokey paprika, garlic powder & onion powder)
- spray olive oil
- Dipping sauce (mayonnaise & garlic)
How to make Crispy Sweet potato Fries
This will be the most simple recipe you have ever made. Trust me! If you prep your sweet potatoes at the start of the week like I do, it makes it even easier. So start by roasting your sweet potato whole, in the skin until it is nice & soft. Be sure to poke some holes in the skin with a knife so that it does not explode. I’m not sure if this even happens, but I was told this once, & now I do it every time!
Peel off the skin of the sweet potato & cut into chip size batons. I like thicker chips but you do you… Some like long & skinny, others short & fat… Place them into the air fryer ( you can also use oven) spaced evenly. If you have too many fries, feel free to start stacking them on top of each other like Jenga…
Sweet Potato Fries Seasoning
This one is super simple… mix together all the spices for the crispy fries. I like to make this in bulk & put it into its own shaker to make it super simple to use frequently.
Then spray them with some olive oil & sprinkle over the seasoning.
Place into the air fryer for 12-15minutes on 200C (392F) or until they are nice & golden with some dark edges. These are the best bits… Yum!
How make the Crispy Sweet Potato Fries Dipping Sauce:
Another super simple recipe. I just mix together some mayonnaise with some raw garlic to make a delicious aoli. You can also mix the mayonnaise with some sweet chilli sauce instead of garlic. Totally up to you.
And there you have it… The best, delicious Crispy Sweet Potato Fries that the kids will love.
